Meet our 2026 EVCEA Scholarship Winners:
Please join us in congratulating Carter Russell and Hayden Ostrander, the recipients of this year’s $2,000 EVCEA Scholarships! Their dedication, ambition, and commitment to making a positive impact in their communities truly set them apart.
Carter Russell
After graduation, Carter plans to major in rangeland science through Oregon State University at Eastern Oregon University. He hopes to pursue a career in conservation, working with organizations such as Mid-Columbia Fisheries or the Department of Natural Resources.
During his time at East Valley High School, Carter was involved in ASB as executive board vice president, National Honor Society, FCCLA, Mr. East Valley, varsity soccer, and school news video production as an editor.
He also helped create the Outdoors Club. Carter is proud to be part of the East Valley community and grateful for EVCEA’s support as he works toward achieving his educational goals.
Hayden Ostrander
Hayden plans to study law and political science, with the goal of pursuing a career as a family law attorney. Inspired by an early interest in the legal field, Hayden hopes to use the law to help clients—especially children—find safety and support during difficult circumstances.
In college, Hayden plans to pursue UW’s pre-law program with a minor in political science before attending law school. With a passion for changing lives, Hayden hopes to one day become a partner in a law firm and make a lasting difference through legal advocacy.

Please join us in congratulating Ruby Zepeda and Logan Roy, the recipients of this years 2025 $2,000 EVCEA Scholarships! Their drive, dedication, and passion for their communities truly set them apart.
Meet Ruby Zepeda
A recent graduate of East Valley High School, Ruby also earned her Associate’s Degree from YVC this spring through the Running Start program. This fall, she’s heading to Washington State University in Pullman to pursue a degree in Biology on a Pre-Med track.
An active leader, Ruby has been involved in FFA, MEChA, FCCLA, and currently serves as President of the National Honor Society. Her dream is to become an OB/GYN or Pediatric doctor and return to serve the Yakima community she proudly calls home.

Meet Logan Roy
Logan graduated on June 5th from Riverside Christian School and will attend Whitworth University this fall to pursue a degree in Structural Engineering. With the support of the EVCEA scholarship, Logan plans to eventually return to his roots in Moxee, where he was born and raised, to make a positive impact on his community.
"With the help of EVCEA, I plan to attend Whitworth University in the fall and eventually move back to the Moxee community."

🎉 Drumroll, please! We are thrilled to announce the winners of the 2024 EVCEA Scholarship Awards🎓
Our first EVCEA Scholarship Award Recipient is Jacob Russell. He will be going to continue athletics at Eastern Oregon University to play on the men’s soccer team, where he will pursue a career in education in either elementary or high school. He hopes one day to be able to come back and teach in the valley.
Our second EVCEA Scholarship Award Recipient is Taylor Fox. This past year, our very own Taylor Fox has served our community as Miss East Valley Queen through the support of the EVCEA. Taylor Graduated in June with her High School Diploma from East Valley High School and her Associate’s Degree from Yakima Valley College. Thanks to the support of the EVCEA, this fall, Taylor will be moving to Phoenix Arizona to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Advertisement, minoring in photography and digital design at Grand Canyon University.
