EVCEA Awards $4,000 in Scholarships
This year we are giving two scholarships to students graduating from
East Valley High School.
All of the applicants were outstanding young people in our community
and we thank them for their efforts.
The individuals who were chosen include:
Mary Orthmann
Mary is the youngest of seven children. She is graduating in the top
ten of her class. She has played Varsity sports - Soccer, Basketball
and Softball - all of which have gone to State to compete. She complete
Honor and A.P. courses in English and Calculus. She was chosen as the
Army National Reserve's Female Scholar Athlete and Senior Class Most
Athletic Female. She is involved in school clubs such as Christians In
Action, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the National Honors
Society. She has coached a Little League girl's softball team. She has
been active in Holy Rosary parish where she sang in the choir and
helped organize different bazaars and retreats. She has been accepted
to Central Washington University where she will major in the field of
Exercise Science.
Austin Jones
Austin is the youngest of nine children. He has attended school
in three school districts, two in Idaho and at East Valley. He is a
member of the National Honors Society and has attained a 4.0 in High
School. He is planning on attending Brigham Young University where he
will persue a degree in Civil Engineering. During his college time he
will go on a two year mission for his Church.

scholarship winners; we wish you

EVCEA will again be awarding two scholarships in the amount of $2,000
each.
CRITERIA:
- East Valley High School graduating senior
- Must have a 2.5 or above GPA and provide copy of
transcripts
- Must have a minimum attendance record of 90% and
provide attendance
profile
- Must have applied and been accepted to a two year,
four year, or
accredited vocational or technical school
- Scholarship must be used to further the recipient's
formal education at
a school mentioned above
- Applications must be postmarked by the deadline March
31, 2011
