EVCEA Awards $4,000 in Scholarships
This year we are giving two scholarships to students graduating from East Valley High School.
All of the applicants were outstanding young people in our community and we thank them for their efforts.
The individuals who were chosen include:
ARIANNA MOHSENIAN
Arianna has been accepted at George Fox University, Whitworth University, and Concordia University.
She plans on attending George Fox University and major in Athletic Training.
Future plans include graduate school to get her doctorate in Physical Therapy.
Upon graduation, and the payoff of her school loans, Arianna plans to do a one or two year mission trip in Africa. She has a GPA of 3.99. She is the daughter of Mohammad and Shirley Mohsenian.
GARRETT GRESS
Garrett has been accepted at Washington State University, where he plans to major in Mechanical Engineering.
His dream is to design snow skis for a major company, and eventually start his own company.
Garrett has dealt with adversity this past year with the loss of his brother
but says it has helped him become a stronger person. He wants to do the best he can in memory of his brother.
He has a GPA of 4.0. He is the son of Randy and Michele Gress.
The volunteers that had the difficult job of selecting our recipients are Jeff Brantner, Gina Crane,
Eric Desmarais, and Margaret Filkins. We appreciate their time and input in choosing the
2008 scholarship recipients.
Congratulations to all the East Valley graduates and especially our scholarship winners; we wish you
the best!
